Mercedes-Benz 27/170/225 PS 710 SS W 06 - 1930 The car offered here, a 1930 710 SS #36352, is a Cabriolet A, i.e. 2 doors 2 seats originally clothed by Thrupp and Maberly in the typical manner of this English coachbuilder. Rolf Meyer disliked the aspect of his Mercedes fitted with rather high windscreen and side windows. With the hood on, the rear part of the car looked too big and Rolf Meyer decided to introduce some modifications according to his own taste. A lower windscreen and a new soft top do not obliterate the genuineness of the car which in fact appears more elegant. The body is finished in pale blue and cream with a cream alpaca-lined hood. The car is fitted with Lucas swinging arm indicators, a V-shaped radiator, one spotlight and two Grebel headlamps. The steering wheel is on the right side. This car had been bought after being restored 4 years ago and worked perfectly. After being modified by Rolf Meyer, it was refinished in blue and cream and the Monaco emblem was added after the car had been shown at a Monaco Concours d'Élégance. The engine had been dismantled after some bearing troubles and put back together recently.
