The reference of the artist "Lüddekens" refers to the Modersohn-collector Dr. Ernst Lüddekens from Hannover, for whom the painting was originally reserved. However, it then passed into the possession of his son Christian (O. Modersohn to Dr. Lüddekens, letter from February 17th, 1943). The frame also comes from his hand. Es ist dann aber in Besitz des Sohnes Christian übergegangen (O. Modersohn an Dr. Lüddekens, Brief vom 17. Februar 1943). Von seiner Hand stammt auch der Rahmen.
