The image dimensions are 47.7 x 60.5 cm, the framed dimensions 76 x 90 cm. Konstantin Fedorovic Juon (1875-1958) The painter was born in Moscow in 1875. From 1893-98 he studied at the Moscow School of Art among others under Sawitzkij and Ssjeroff. This was followed by trips to Paris. In the meantime, he ran his own art school and lectured at the Academy of the Arts from 1921-30. Moreover Juon was aa member of various literary and art circles as well as artists' associations such as the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia. From 1938-39 he maintained a studio at the Academy of Leningrad. Works by Juon can be found, among others, in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the Russian Museum and in the Academy Gallery in Leningrad as well as the Civic Museums in Samara and Riga.
