Expertise by the renowned expert Professor Jaromir Zemina, enclosed. Professor Jaromir Zemina, remarked:
“The painting was completed during Nejedly's stay in Southeast Asia in 1909–1911. His companion there was his friend Jaroslav Hnevkovsky. First they stayed in Ceylon, then in India. The manner in which the painting under consideration is painted – the bright, pure colours applied with small, irregular brushstrokes – testifies to Nejedly's having been influenced by Van Gogh's work at the time. His work from this period is marked by the use of a small painting format and a base of cardboard, necessitated due to difficult living conditions and poverty.“
Consulted with Dr Irena Zantovska Murray HonFRIBA, Dr Jiri Machalicky and Vladimir Lekes.
