Ottoman or Eastern European Riveted Chainmail Shirt, 17th Century. An authentic riveted chainmail shirt dating to the 17th century, likely of Ottoman or Eastern European origin. Constructed from interlocking iron rings, many of which are riveted, this piece exemplifies the craftsmanship typical of protective armor used by cavalry and elite infantry during the period. The shirt features short sleeves and extends to mid-thigh length, providing ample coverage while allowing mobility in combat. Condition is good overall with natural patina and signs of historical wear consistent with age and use.
