Patek Philippe Nautilus Jumbo A legendary, vintage Geneva wristwatch with date, original cork box with transport carton and Patek Philippe extract from the archives, sold on January 23, 1980. In January 2018 the watch was given a revision Movm. No. 1306202, Ref. 3700/1, Cal. 28-255C, Case No. 537112, Dimensions 42 x 44 mm, circa 1978, Origin Swiss Case: steel, screwed on bezel, Patek Philippe steel bracelet, bracelet length 150 mm, total length 190 mm. Dial: black, bar-like texture, applied luminous white gold indexes, luminous baton hands. Movm.: Automatic. This classic vintage piece was with its original owner for 40 years and despite its age the watch is in well looked after condition. The sophisticated "porthole" design by Gerald Genta ensures that the Nautilus remains one of the most remarkable and sought-after models of the Patek Philippe range today. The watch was created in 1976 and its rather chunky shape - inspired by the shape of a porthole of a transatlantic liner – certainly stood out from the other, rather more conservative designs of the Patek Philippe brand. The distinctive "Jumbo" case has a wide, flat bezel and an integrated bracelet. The black ribbing of the dial is repeated on the applied indexes and the baton hands. Early on the Nautilus was not a sales success but its popularity grew extremely fast and soon the Nautilus stood for sophistication, vitality and character. Case: very good, slightly worn. Dial: very good, hands later original. Movm.: very good, capable of running. Case: very good, slightly worn. Dial: very good, hands later original. Movm.: very good, capable of running.
