This Patek Philippe men’s watch with chronograph and a rare perpetual calendar from between 1953 and 1960 will make any watch collector’s knees go weak! The 18 carat gold watchcase is held by a black Patek Philippe alligator leather watchstrap.
The 18 carat yellow gold pin buckle is also original.
The manufacture chronograph movement features a perpetual calendar and a crown wheel with 30-minute counter.
The white dial with black numerals, gold indices and hands indicates the hour and minute.
The watch also has a chronometer for the small second, a chronograph register as well as a full calendar indicating week days, months, days and moon phases.
The movement and dial are signed “Patek & Philippe Genève”.
The movement is numbered 868.749.
The fineness mark, manufacturer signature, Geneva hallmark, reference number 2499 and serial number 2611727 are found on the inside of the back cover.
The calibre 13”’ watch is in very good, authentic condition.
It was worn for thirty years and professionally serviced every year.
The watch worked flawlessly during a short time test; no guarantee on accuracy.
The watch measures 37.5 mm in diameter, 45 mm including the watchstrap horns. Patek Philippe In 1839 the businessman Antoni Patek and the watchmaker Francois Czapek founded “Patek, Czapek & CIe” in Geneva. In 1851 Adrien Philippe officially became a partner in the company; they had already worked together on new watchmaking techniques. In 1932 the company was bought by Charles and Jean Stern and is still a family business.
The company is known for its long-standing tradition, innovation, rarity, aesthetics, as well as quality and fine workmanship.
