Provenance Collection européenne, acquis sur le marché de l'art anglais dans les années 1990 Exceptionnelle petite épingle en or composée d'une tige effilée relativement courte se terminant par une tête ornementale élaborée. La tête présente une structure architecturale à plusieurs registres superposés, entièrement ajourés et ornés de délicats motifs en filigrane. Le décor se compose de palmettes stylisées, de volutes et de motifs végétaux encadrant des espaces vides, créant un effet de cage décorative. L'ensemble est surmonté d'une perle ou boule d'or lisse formant le couronnement de la pièce. L'épingle témoigne d'une virtuosité technique remarquable. La tige a été formée par martelage et étirage du fil d'or. La tête ornementale résulte d'un travail complexe de filigrane : de fins fils d'or ont été torsadés, façonnés en volutes et palmettes, puis soudés ensemble pour créer la structure ajourée. Les différents registres sont organisés de manière symétrique. Le filigrane, technique d'orfèvrerie raffinée héritée de traditions orientales, connaît son apogée dans le monde hellénistique et romain. Excellent état. Patine naturelle de l'or ancien. Exceptional small gold pin composed of a relatively short tapered shaft ending in an elaborate ornamental head. The head presents an architectural structure with several superimposed registers, entirely openwork and decorated with delicate filigree motifs. The decoration consists of stylized palmettes, volutes, and vegetal motifs framing empty spaces, creating a decorative cage effect. The ensemble is topped with a smooth gold bead or sphere forming the crowning of the piece. The pin demonstrates remarkable technical virtuosity. The shaft was formed by hammering and drawing gold wire. The ornamental head results from complex filigree work: fine gold wires were twisted, shaped into volutes and palmettes, then soldered together to create the openwork structure. The different registers are organized symmetrically. Filigree, a refined goldsmithing technique inherited from Eastern traditions, reached its peak in the Hellenistic and Roman world.
