In the background, one seems to recognise the Esterel Mountains. Whether it is the view from Bonnard's garden or from elsewhere in Le Cannet and its surroundings has not yet been clearly established. The atmospheric landscape on the Côte d'Azur has been put on paper with artistic verve. We see two bushes in the foreground framed by rocks and foliage on the left. The rectangles in the middle ground represent placeholders for houses. In the background we see gently rising hills. AA
