Au nordouest du village de Bizory, d autres troupes americaines du 506e PIR de la 101e division aeroportee etaient egalement actives, retranchees dans et autour du Bois Jacques, ou des combats tres intenses ont eu lieu. La ligne de chemin de fer entre Bastogne et Bourcy servait de ligne de demarcation naturelle entre les secteurs defensifs des 506e et 501e PIR. Les habitants du village de Bizory, qui y sont restes pendant les combats, ont ete grandement affectes par ces evenements. Plusieurs familles ont du trouver refuge dans leurs caves ou fuir vers Bastogne pour echapper a la mort. Pendant les combats dans la region, on pense qu un batiment a proximite du village de Bizory a ete utilise comme poste de secours avance par la 101e division aeroportee pour soigner de nombreux soldats blesses des deux camps. According to the seller, this map case comes from Bizory. Northwest of the village of Bizory, other American troops from the 506th PIR of the 101st Airborne Division were also active, entrenched in and around Bois Jacques, where very intense fighting occurred. The railway line between Bastogne and Bourcy served as a natural boundary between the defensive sectors of the 506th and 501st PIR. The inhabitants of Bizory, who remained in the village during the fighting, were deeply affected by these events. Several families had to take refuge in their cellars or flee to Bastogne to escape death. During the battles in the area, it is believed that a building near the village of Bizory was used as an advanced aid station by the 101st Airborne Division to treat many wounded soldiers from both sides.
