A FINE CARVED PALE CELADON WHITE TONE JADE RUYI SCEPTER, CHINA, QING DYNASTY, PERIOD OF QIANLONG (1736-1795)
31,1 cm long, 7,7 cm wide
Skillfully carved in high relief with a long and narrow sagging handle embossed with waves breaking against craggy rocks below, a phoenix keeping in her mouth a long stem with flowers and foliage, the head of the scepter finished with another phoenix that wrapped around it and in her mouth holding a blossom foliate twig, the stone is of an even pale celadon white tone. In perfect condition, a little russet area on the waves at the bottom of the handle.
