RARE PRINT WITH THE SIGHT OF JINSHAN. China. Qing dynasty. 17th/18th c. Title: New sight of Jinshan after the rebuilding. Color wood block print on paper. In the center of the panorama the Chan Buddhist Jinshan Temple, built on a rock in a side arm of the huge Yangtze River. On his inspection trip to the South, Emperor Kangxi gave the temple the name 'Jiangtian Chan Si', which can also be read on a sign above the open gate. In the foreground the newly built Jinshan, a district of Zhenjiang. The merchants are busy on foot and on horseback on paths, bridges and in boats. 54x36cm. Lower left publisher stamp: Gusu Wang Xin fahao faxing (published by Wang Xin from Gusu). Condition B. A bit bleached. Holes. Some foxing at the margin. Stripes, maybe a misprint. Im Zentrum des Panoramas die Anlage des Chan-buddhistische Jinshan-Tempels, gebaut auf einem Felsen in einem Nebenarm des gewaltigen Yangtse-Flusses. Auf seiner Inspektionsreise in den Süden verlieh Kaiser Kangxi dem Tempel den Namen 'Jiangtian Chan Si', der auch auf einem Schild über dem offenen Tor zu lesen ist. Im Vordergrund des neu aufgebauten Jinshan, einem Stadtteil von Zhenjiang. Die Händler sind geschäftig zu Fuß und auf Pferden unterwegs auf Wegen, Brücken und in Booten. 54x36cm.
