That year, Rolex introduced this major upgrade that improved the reliability and robustness of the tool watch underwater. Over its 15 years of production, the model saw different generations that distinguish themselves mainly by the crown guards shape or inscription on the dial. This present example has pointed crown guards, chapter ring and only 2 lines of gilt text on the glossy black dial. The present lot, a beautiful example of a Rolex Submariner reference 5512 with an incredible and much-desired mirror glossy dial with gilt chapter ring and an exclamation mark at 6 o’clock, is very coveted by fine collectors. The current Submariner, preserved in very nice original condition, is a storied example ready to accompany its discerning new owner.
