Und ich finde, es ganz schlüssig, sich Gedanken darüber zu machen, was der ganze Irrsinn soll. Es gibt natürlich die Vernunftbegabten, die Dinge ausschließen, welche in ihren Vernunftschemata keinen Platz finden. Daraus folgen all diese hermetischen Versuche irgendwelche Ausdrucksweisen zu finden, die widerspruchsfrei sind – und die gibt es schlicht und einfach nicht. Die Mathematik ist nicht widerspruchsfrei, die Logik ist es genauso wenig, nichts ist widerspruchsfrei. Es wird einem eigentlich immer nur so verkauft als ob es so wäre, bis man dann zum Idioten wird, der das nicht verstanden hat. Das Faszinierende sind doch eben unfertige Systeme, die Paradoxien aufweisen. Die schrecklichste Vorstellung für mich ist ein völlig fertiges System, in dem alles stimmt. Damit ist alles aus. In solch einem Fall könnte man auch in seiner eigenen Vorstellungskraft gar nicht mehr überleben. And I think it’s quite appropriate to think about what all the madness is about. There are, of course, rational people who disregard things that have no place in their analytical frameworks. From this follows all these hermetic attempts to find some form of expression that is free of contradictions - and these simply do not exist. Mathematics is not free of contradictions, neither is logic; nothing is free of contradictions. It’s really only sold to you as if it is, until you become the idiot who doesn’t understand it. The fascinating thing is unfinished systems that exhibit paradoxes. The scariest idea for me is a completely finished system where everything is just right. Everything would be over.
