Seiden Khotan mit Gold-Metallbrokat "Palastteppich" antik (für den kaiserlichen Palast in Peking angefertigt) "Qing Dynastie", Ostturkestan, Ende 18.Jhd., reine Naturseide mit reich an Goldlahnfäden. Prächtiger Seidenteppich mit goldbroschiertem Feld. Das innenfeld des Teppichs geht auf frühe chinesische Kachel-Musterungen zurück, welche auch in den Palästen in der verbotenen Stadt Peking aufzufinden waren. Die gold-gelbe Bordüre zeigt stilisierte aufsteigende Pflanzenformen. Diese kostbaren Arbeiten wurden in Khotan, Kaschgar, Samarkand und Yarkand ausschließlich für den Kaiserhof in Peking gefertigt. Spätere Stücke aus dem 19 .Jahrhundert wurden in den Werkstätten in Peking und Ning-Hsia hergestellt. Signierte Stücke mit Raum Bezeichnung waren nur für den Kaiser bestimmt. Dieses Exemplar diente wohl als Bodenschmuck in einer der Paläste in Peking. Hervorragender Originalzustand, aufwändige Farben mit viel indigo.
