*SMALL BUREAU-PLAT WITH BOULLE MARQUETRY, Régence style, BEFORT JEUNE (active circa 1880/1890) attributed, Paris circa 1870/90. Red and blue tortoiseshell finely inlaid with brass fillets in «contre-partie» after designs by J. Bérain. The top edged in bronze moulding, with 1 central drawer flanked by 1 drawer each side, with the same but sham arrangement verso. With exceptionally fine matte and polished gilt bronze mounts and applications including «espagnolettes», bands and sabots 122x69x80 cm. Provenance: from an English collection.
