La sculpture présente une forme allongée et verticale caractéristique : un corps compact et trapu supporté par deux pattes courtes schématisées, surmonté d'un long cou cylindrique se terminant par une tête ovale légèrement renflée. La stylisation extrême réduit l'animal à ses caractéristiques essentielles, créant une forme à la fois reconnaissable et abstraite. La pierre présente une surface naturellement mouchetée, avec des inclusions noires et beiges créant un motif tacheté évoquant le pelage de la girafe. Ce choix du matériau n'est probablement pas fortuit : les artisans néolithiques auraient sélectionné cette pierre précisément pour sa ressemblance visuelle avec le motif de robe de l'animal représenté. La surface est polie et lisse, témoignant d'un long travail de façonnage et de finition.
