STELE MAGIQUE Figurant un personnage masculin dans une sorte d’ouroboros, sur une barque. ll tient dans sa main droite un instrument triangulaire. À l’intérieur, autour de lui, un crocodile stylisé et d’autres animaux (?). Au-dessous de la barque, des vagues rappelant les eaux tumulteuses du Noun (?). En haut, à gauche, une architecture (temple ? ). En haut à droite sur plusieurs registres, un texte. Cette iconographie n’est pas sans rappeler les représentations d’Horus enfant sur les stèles magiques égyptiennes. La collection Diniacopoulos était l’une des plus grandes collections d’antiquités au Canada. Comprenant des artefacts provenant de la Méditerranée Occidentale et Orientale – de l’Égypte et de la Syrie à la Grèce, Italie et Chypre. En 1998, Mme Olga Diniacopoulos supervise la dispersion des restes de la collection afin de récolter des fonds pour une bourse d’études majeure dotation à Concordia. La recherche universitaire sur le le contenu remarquable de cette collection continue. The Diniacopoulos family Vincent and Olga Diniacopoulos arrived in Montreal from Alexandria in 1951, bringing with them the largest private collection of antiquities known to Canada. The Diniacopoulos collection was one of the largest collections of antiques in Canada. Featuring artifacts from the Western and Eastern Mediterranean – from Egypt and Syria to Greece, Italy and Cyprus. In 1998, Mrs. Olga Diniacopoulos oversaw the dispersal of the remains of the collection to raise funds for a major scholarship endowment at Concordia. Academic research into the remarkable contents of this collection continues.
