Weit über hundertmal hat Franz von Stuck seine Tochter Mary porträtiert - als Gemälde oder Pastell, als Gouache oder Zeichnung. Franziska Anna Marie-Louise, genannt "Mary", wurde 1896 unehelich geboren. Ihre Mutter, Anna Maria Brandmaier aus Bayerdilling, war nicht nur Stucks Jugendliebe, sondern auch eines der Modelle für Stucks berühmtestes Bild "Die Sünde". 1904 adoptierte Franz von Stuck, gemeinsam mit seiner späteren Ehefrau Mary Lindpainter, die Tochter gegen den Willen ihrer leiblichen Mutter. Bis zu ihrer Heirat mit dem Bauunternehmer Albert Heilmann im Jahre 1917 diente die junge Mary Stuck ihrem Vater als Modell. Franz von Stuck painted portraits of his daughter Mary well over a hundred times - as paintings or watercolours, as gouache or drawings. Franziska Anna Marie-Louise, called "Mary", was born in 1896 out of wedlock. Her mother, Anna Maria Brandmaier from Bayerdilling, was not only Stuck's early love, but also one of the models for Stuck's most famous painting "The Sin". In 1904, together with his later wife Mary Lindpainter, Franz von Stuck adopted the daughter against the will of the birthmother. Until her wedding to the developer Albert Heilmann in 1917, the young Mary Stuck served her father as a model. In different poses and costumes, often based on photographs, she was a popular theme for the painter as well as the buyers.
