Douwes B.V., Amsterdam, mit beiliegender Echtheitsbestätigung der Galerie vom 19.12.1980. Vignon erhält die ersten künstlerischen Ratschläge von Camille Corot. Eng befreundet ist er mit den Künstlerkollegen Armand Guillaumin, Paul Cézanne und Camille Pissarro mit denen er oft gemeinsam in der Natur malt. Weitere enge Freunde sind Dr. Gachet und die Brüder Theo und Vincent van Gogh. Das erste impressionistische Gemälde, das der Kunsthändler Theo van Gogh erwirbt, ist ein Werk von Vignon. Dieser nimmt an vier der insgesamt acht Gruppenausstellungen der Impressionisten teil. Trotz allem bleibt für Vignon der große Erfolg zu Lebzeiten aus. Die "Sommerlandschaft in der Provence" zeigt Vignon als einen Impressionisten "gemäßigter Diktion". Die für ihn typische violette und bläuliche Tonigkeit ist hier in eine warme Gesamtstimmung gehüllt, die die Hitze des Spätsommers eindrucksvoll widerspiegelt. Douwes B.V., Amsterdam, with enclosed authentication of the gallery dated December 19, 1980. Vignon receives the first artistic advice from Camille Corot. He is close friends with his artist colleagues Armand Guillaumin, Paul Cézanne and Camille Pissarro with who he often paints together in the open countryside. Other close friends are Dr. Gachet and the brothers Theo and Vincent van Gogh. The first impressionistic painting that the art dealer Theo van Gogh acquires is one of Vignon. He participates in four of the eight group exhibitions of the impressionists. Despite all that Vignon never had great successs when still alive. The "Summer Landscape in the Provence" shows Vignon as an impressionist of "moderate diction". The violett and blue colour, which is typical for him, is here draped into a warm mood which impressively reflects the heat of late summer.
