The square baluster vase delicately painted in polychrome enamels and gilt with four scenes, one on each side: sparrows and autumn maple leaves; a lakeside scene with pavilions; two monkeys swinging in a willow tree; and karako (Chinese boys) at play; the neck with four smaller scenes; the other surfaces with rich floral and formal ornament; signed underneath in gilt seal script Yabu Meizan
