10. * A carved alabaster figure of the Virgin Weeping from a Lamentation scene, Italian, Sicily, circa 1500-1520 Dressed in a dress tightened at the waist, with bodice open in a square and punctured sleeves puffing on the shoulders. Our Virgin was undoubtedly part of a Lamentation scene, and her long, wavy locks leaving her forehead bare bear witness to the mastery of the sculptor.
