A fine Lauenstein gilded and engraved armorial goblet, mid-18th century
The rounded bowl with a solid beaded base, decorated with a large shield-shaped coat of arms, the reverse with an elaborate shell motif embellished with scrolling foliage, beside a vase filled with flowers supported on a scrolled bracket, the rim gilt, the base of the bowl cut with a stiff-leaf border and fine flutes, on a stem with a large shoulder knop and wide inverted baluster both cut with facets, over a wide high domed foot with a gilt footrim, 19.8cm high
