112. GEORGIOS ROILOS (1867-1928) Portrait of Dionysios Tritakis signed in Greek upper left oil on canvas 210 x 111 cm (82 11/16 x 43 11/16in.) signed in Greek lower left oil on canvas The son of Nicholaos Tritakis who fought in the 1827 siege of the Athens Acropolis under the great philhellene Charles Fabvier, Dionyssios Tritakis (1827-1902) studied at the Military Academy before joining the Cavalry units of the Greek Army. Alongside Dimitrios Grivas, Petros Mavromichalis, and Dimitrios Botsaris, he played a leading part in the anti-royal revolt by the Nauplion garrison in February 1862, which eventually led to the abdication of King Otto in October of the same year.
