12. A Meissen figure of a dancing Tyrolean peasant, circa 1745
Modelled by J.J. Kaendler, wearing a pale grey hat, white jacket with gilt buttons, red braces and puce breeches, 15.5cm high, traces of crossed swords mark in blue, F in black (right hand restuck, minor restoration)

Kaendler's records for overtime work in July and August 1741 include: "Einen jungen tanzenden Tyroler Bauer" [a young Tyrolean peasant dancing]; the figure is also mentioned in his Taxa: "1. junger Tyroler Bauer in seinem gehörigen Habit, tantzend" [a young Tyrolean peasant in his appropriate costume, dancing].
