The design included in the Type 20 specifications were that the watches had to have a black dial, oversized subsidiary dials at 3 and 9 for constant seconds and a minute recording register, flyback function for the chronograph while running and a diameter of approximately 38mm. Several watch manufacturers responded to the call for tenders, including Auricoste, Breguet, Vixa, Dodane and Airain. This specific model watchmade by Dodane was issued to the French military Mirage IIIE Squadron, located in the Luxeuil Air Base 116, Franche-Comté. It is accompanied by its Military Technical Intervention document dated 27/06/1984.
