124. 124W A FINE NERIKAWA (LACQUERED RAWHIDE) ARMOUR Edo period (1615-1868), 19th century Lacquered black and laced in white with light and dark blue highlights comprising a 32-plate suji kabuto surmounted with a four-stage chrysanthemum-form shakudō tehen kanamono and fitted with a five-lame shikoro ending in large fukigaeshi with gilt-metal family crests, the gilt-brass maedate of kuwagata and a Buddhist ken; the ressei menpō with a stiff-bristle moustache and chin tuft, fitted with a four-lame yodarekake; the cuirass a nimai okegawa nuinobe dō with seven sections of five-lame kusazuri and a support for a sashimono on the rear; chūsode; odagote; kawara haidate with a gold-lacquer family crest; shino suneate; boar's-hair boots; with an armour stand and one storage box
