125. A Meissen figure of a dwarf lady, circa 1931-33
Modelled by Paul Scheurich, wearing a tricorn hat with feather, a crinoline dress with yellow and iron-red flowers and a relief-moulded sailing ship with trailing swags and playing cards on the front, the oval base moulded with reeds and a sphere at the front painted with crossed swords above moulded, gilt-edged scrolls, 19cm high, crossed swords mark with dot between the tips in underglaze-blue, incised model number A.1232, impressed former's number 50
A similar painted example in the Schauhalle of the Meissen manufactory is illustrated by Rafael, op cit., 1995, ill. 38/39.1, and another from the Prof. J. Rafael collection was sold in these rooms, 14 April 2022, lot 86.
