Edo period (1615-1868), 18th century
Constructed of 62-plates riveted together, the five-stage tehen kanamono, lowest stage pieced with scrolling vines, the bowl mounted with an iron five-lame shikoro lacquered black, adorned with a sun-disc maedate and kuwagata supported by a kuwagata dai pierced with scrolling vines and chrysanthemum bosses, the fukigaeshi applied with gilt-metal oak-leaf crests
