Claude Lalanne worked with the Greek jeweller Zolotas to create a series of lip necklaces, of which this is an artist's proof. Mouths and lips were a recurring motif in her sculptures and jewellery, and she used moulds made from the mouths of friends and clients to add openings to jewellery or sculptures, such as her famous Pomme Bouche. Her playful works are memorable and interesting, and transforming her iconic sculptures and statues into wearable jewellery was an important step in her career.
