145. BRÛLE-PARFUM ARCHAÏSANT EN BRONZE INCRUSTÉ D'ARGENT, FANGDING

AN ARCHAISTIC SILVER-INLAID BRONZE INCENSER BURNER, FANG DING
17th/18th century
Of rectangular form, raised on four stout tubular legs, decorated around the body with with two registers of taotie masks and qilong against a leiwen ground, all finely inlaid with silver wire, with pronounced vertical flanges to the corners and the centre of each side, the rim set with a pair of loop handles, the base with a Shisou mark inlaid in silver, wood cover with agate finial.
