The first edition opens with a beautiful engraved title by J. de Fornazeri and is dedicated to Henri IV. This violent and copious attack provoked an immediate response from Pastor Bansillon: "L'Idolâtrie papistique", to which Father Richeome replied with a "Panthéon Huguenot découvert et ruiné" which put an end to the quarrel. Many of the books by this famous Jesuit from Provence, "Le Cicéron de son Temps", were published in Lyon. A detached leaf comes from another copy. Doubled title, a fine copy in gilt vellum with the arms of the Chilleau d'Airvault family.
