169. A Sèvres plate from the service made for Laetitia Bonaparte ("Madame Mère"), circa 1802
The blue-ground well reserved with a circular panel painted with a laurel wreath surrounding a central gilt star motif, a wide band of loosely bound flowers including roses scrolling below the blue rim picked out with a gilt band of flower heads alternated and stylised leaves, 25cm, "Sevres." in blue script, painter's mark "L.(?)B," and gilder's mark for Weydinger (père)
