"Our Lady of Loreto"
Oil on canvas. In a 17th – 18th century frame made of gilded and polychromed wood. 147 x 114,5 cm.
Devotion to Our Lady of Loreto in Colonial Latin America was widespread, mostly due to the Jesuit congregation.
On the left side, two angels lift up the house of the Virgin, so we can see the name of the saint.
