184. A Louis-Philippe gilt-bronze mantle clock by Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751-1843), second quarter 19th century
Of rectangular form, with pierced flowerhead and scrolling foliate pediment, the case with intricate foliate scrolls border, the circular enamelled and brass dial above figural and mask motifs, the sides with semi-detached winged herms terminating in acanthus scrolls above stylized shells, on a stepped rectangular base with masks, ribbon-tied cornucopia garlands and foliate scrolls, the right hand side of the base signed 'THOMIRE APARIS', 64.5cm high, 36.5cm wide, 21cm deep (25in high, 14in wide, 8in deep)
