1849-1900, a spectacular and very unusual collection of mint and cancelled classic French stamps. Among the stamps are Y&T n°1 Cérès 10c (x9), n°2 Cérès 15c vert (x6), n°5 Cérès 40c (x9), n°6 Cérès 1fr (x5), n°9 Napoléon 10c bistre (x5), etc. A very fine selection of Bordeaux with n°39 in a strip of five copies, n°44 in three copies or a bistre-greenish n°43, n°49 advertised as salmon or n°35 in a pair on a letter signed Calves. A fine set of mint classics including Napoléon lauréon and Cérès dentelé. All the stamps are superb in appearance and the cancellations are generally B/TB. On the other hand, for mint stamps, the gums can be considered as improved or redone. Overall rating "gigantic". A superb lot for dealers or collectors looking for diversity and study. A must see!
