19. A Meissen figure of Capitano from the Duke of Weissenfels series, circa 1745 Modelled by P. Reinicke, wearing a black tricorn hat, white jacket, chamois gloves, puce waistcoat, yellow breeches and black shoes, the base applied with leaves and a flower, 13.5cm high (minor restoration) After François Joullain's engraving "Habit de Capitan Italien." The figure is listed in Reinicke's work notes for August 1744: "Ein detto, Capitain Italien in Thon boussirt" [one, ditto, Italian captain repaired in clay].
