1927 Amilcar CGSS roadster No reserve Carte grise française Châssis n° 17716 (selon carte grise) Moteur n° 41045 - Dans la collection depuis 1973 - Séduisant petit roadster - Rare version CGSS - Sans réserve Sous son apparence placide, cette Amilcar correspond à une CGSS ("Châssis Grand Sport Surbaissé") dont elle présente plusieurs caractéristiques qui la distinguent de la version CGS : auvent en aluminium coulé portant un réservoir d'essence parallélépipédique, empattement de 2m32, 4 tambours de freins de diamètre 260 mm... La voiture a été de toute évidence modifiée au cours de son existence, avec une carrosserie dont l'arrière arrondi est plus large que celui des CGSS traditionnelles dotées d'une pointe Bordino. Le tableau de bord en aluminium bouchonné a été refait et affiche plusieurs instruments : compteur de vitesse et compte-tours Jaeger, pression d'huile, jauge à essence Le Nivex, ampèremètre... Elle a été échangée en 1973 contre un tableau par Patrice Trigano, galeriste reconnu et fils d'André Trigano, qui souhaitait montrer à son père qu'il n'était pas réfractaire aux voitures anciennes ! Elle était telle qu'elle se présente aujourd'hui et n'a, depuis, plus quitté la collection. Nous avons noté l'absence de capote et de plaque constructeur. La production d'époque est très limitée (984 exemplaires produits entre 1927 et 1929, selon l'ouvrage de Gilles Fournier) et les authentiques CGSS survivantes sont rares, cet exemplaire est donc une opportunité intéressante. Nous informons les acheteurs que l'ensemble des véhicules de la collection ont été peu utilisés ces dernières années s'agissant d'une collection muséale. Ils sont donc vendus en l'état, sans contrôle technique et devront bénéficier d'une révision générale avant de reprendre la route. French title Chassis no. 17716 (according to registration papers) Engine no. 41045 - Part of the collection since 1973 - A charming little roadster - Rare CGSS version - No reserve Under this Amilcar's calm exterior lies a CGSS model (for Châssis Grand Sport Surbaissé or Lowered Grand Sport Chassis). Several features set it apart from the CGS: a cast aluminium canopy with a box-shaped fuel tank, 232 cm wheelbase and four 260 mm diameter drum brakes ... The car has evidently been modified during its lifetime: its body has a rounded rear section which is wider than the pointed Bordino-style tail on the usual CGSS models. The engine-turned aluminium dashboard has been rebuilt and houses several instruments: a Jaeger speedometer and rev counter, an oil pressure gauge, a Le Nivex fuel gauge and an ammeter … It was exchanged for a painting in 1973 by Patrice Trigano, the well-known gallery owner and son of André Trigano, who wanted to show his father that he had nothing against old cars! It is presented today just as it was then and has never left the collection. We noted that the hood and manufacturer's plate are missing. The production run was very limited (984 cars were built from 1927 to 1929, according to Gilles Fournier's book) and few genuine CGSS models have survived, making this an attractive opportunity. We inform buyers that all the vehicles in the collection have been little used during the last years as they are part of a museum collection. They are sold as presented and therefore require recommissioning before being driven on the public roads. © Peter Singhof
