1937 Rolls-Royce 25/30 Sports Saloon par Hooper Carte grise française Châssis n° GAN80 Moteur n° F28Y - Carrosserie Hooper en aluminium - Superbe patine - Bon état de fonctionnement C'est en 1936 que la série des 25/30HP remplace celle des 20/25HP chez Rolls Royce. Cette dernière se caractérisait principalement par un accroissement de puissance, et, à cette époque, les voitures sortaient toutes en châssis puis étaient habillées à la demande chez des carrossiers de renom. La fiche de sortie d'usine de l'exemplaire présenté nous confirme que celui-ci fut livré chez Hooper en mars 1937 afin d'y recevoir sa classieuse carrosserie en aluminium " Sports Saloon ". Nous y apprenons également qu'elle fut délivrée neuve la même année en Angleterre à H.Scott Freeman, et qu'elle possède toujours son moteur d'origine. Achetée au Pays de Galles par son actuel propriétaire en 2003, cette 25/30 affiche un état de conservation exceptionnel : la carrosserie noire avec filets or a été repeinte il y a de nombreuses années et sa patine s'accorde magnifiquement avec celle de l'habitacle, tendu de cuir rouge. La voiture dispose d'un toit ouvrant, d'un phare de recherche sur le montant de pare-brise, et possède encore un manuel d'utilisation d'origine. Un essai en compagnie du propriétaire a permis de constater son bon fonctionnement, et celle-ci semble avoir bénéficié de soins attentifs tout au long de sa vie. La ligne due à Hooper est particulièrement réussie, agrémentant un dessin très classique d'une touche sportive. The newer model was characterized mainly by an increase in power. The cars at that time were mostly delivered in chassis form and these were bodied on demand by renowned coachbuilders. A copy of the factory sheet from Rolls-Royce confirms that it was delivered to Hooper in March 1937, where it received its classy aluminum "Sports Saloon" bodywork. We also learnt that it was delivered new the same year, in England, to a certain H. Scott Freeman, and that it still has its original engine. Purchased in Wales by its current owner in 2003, this 25/30HP is in an exceptional state of conservation: the black body with its gold lining was repainted many years ago and its patina agrees beautifully with the interiors, covered in red leather. The car has a sunroof, a searchlight on the windshield pillar, and still has its original owner's manual. A drive with the owner shows that the car drives well, and it seems to have received the right amount of attentive care throughout his life. The design from Hooper is particularly successful, embellishing a very classic form, with a subtly sporty touch.
