1950 SIMCA 8 Sport Cabriolet Facel Titre de circulation suédois Châssis n° 868108 - Superbe ligne Facel - Un seul propriétaire jusqu'au début des années 2000 - Belle patine L'histoire des SIMCA Sport commence au Salon de l'Automobile de Paris en 1948, lorsque Simca présente un élégant prototype conçu par Pininfarina. Ces voitures très élégantes rappellent les Cisitalia de la même époque et disposent d'une mécanique similaire, le moteur SIMCA 1221cm3 extrapolé du Fiat 1100 qui équipe la Cisitalia. Ainsi qu'en témoigne sa facture d'achat, l'exemplaire présenté a été commandée neuf en 1950 à un agent SIMCA suédois par un jeune mécanicien de l'armée de l'air. Il a conservé la voiture toute sa vie et l'a fait restaurer dans les années 80, remplaçant à l'occasion le moteur par un Rush Super. Il gardait la voiture à la base aérienne où il était stationné, à Nyköping, et consignait de nombreux détails pour tous les voyages qu'il effectuait, incluant la consommation de carburant, le kilométrage, le nom des hôtels où il avait séjourné ou encore les routes qu'il empruntait! Ces notes accompagnent toujours la voiture et offrent un voyage tout autant géographique que temporel. A sa mort, la voiture a été acquise par un collectionneur âgé qui l'a utilisée avec parcimonie. Cette élégante SIMCA Sport est bien conservée grâce à la restauration ancienne dont elle a bénéficié et rares sont les exemplaires pouvant se prévaloir d'une aussi jolie patine. Swedish title Chassis n° 868108 - Beautiful Facel design - One owner from new till early 2000s - Nicely patinated The SIMCA-Sport story begins at the Paris Motor Show in 1948, when Simca exhibits an elegant Pininfarina designed prototype. These highly elegant cars remind us of the Cisitalia cars of the same era and have the same mechanics as the SIMCA 1221ccm engine, based on the Fiat 1100 fitted to the Cisitalia. This particular car was ordered new in 1950 from the Swedish agent by a young air force mechanic. He kept the car all his life and had it restored in the 80s, changing the engine for a Rush Super. He kept the car at the air force base where he was stationed in Nyköping and kept records of all the continental trips he made including fuel consumption, mileage and the names of the hotels he stayed in and the roads that he took. These records are still with the car today and provide a fascinating insight to the 1950s. At his death the car was taken over by another elderly collector who used the car very sparingly. This is a beautiful car on its own and in nice condition considering the older restoration. It is nicely patinated and ran well at the time of inspection.
