Il se lance donc dans la fabrication d'un microcar qui anticipe les problèmes de stationnement et permet à cette voiture d'entrer dans un espace réduit, grâce à un ingénieux dispositif de roues avant rétractables sous l'habitacle. Durant trois ans, il va peaufiner son projet dans l'arrière-boutique du magasin de son épouse et le fabriquer dans son garage de réparations de la porte Champerret, à Paris, où deux prototypes seront successivement réalisés. Sans dessin, il façonne une élégante carrosserie inspirée de l'aviation et dote sa petite auto d'un monocylindre AMC 175 cm3. Une fois terminée, il lui attribue son nom prononcé à l'envers, Reyonnah, et prend un stand au Salon de l'Auto de Paris 1950. C'est le succès ! Des commandes sont prises, la presse signe des essais élogieux et la version à coque en Duralinox (prototype n°1) établit plusieurs essais contrôlés par l'ACF dont un en 1951 à l'occasion d'un Paris-Chartres-Paris, puis sur l'autodrome de Montlhéry en 1952 où elle parcourt 50 km à plus de 95 km/h de moyenne. La voiture participe même à plusieurs concours d'élégance, dont celui d'Enghien-les-Bains avec l'actrice Paulette Dubost, ou encore celui de Bagatelle. Une production industrielle est alors envisagée, quelques exemplaires sont produits (une dizaine selon le fils du constructeur) mais des problèmes de logistique viendront à bout de ce projet. Robert Hannoyer remise alors ses deux prototypes qui seront soigneusement conservés par la famille. En 2014, le prototype de la version tourisme fut vendu par Artcurial à Rétromobile, et c'est aujourd'hui le prototype n°1 à coque en duralinox que nous proposons. Son moteur d'origine, refait au début des années 2000, a été récemment remis en route, après avoir été équipé d'un allumage moderne Kennedy. L'échappement et le réservoir d'essence ont été refaits en inox, tandis que les caoutchoucs de suspensions ont été remplacés et les freins remis en état. Un court essai a été réalisé et il reviendra au futur propriétaire de fiabiliser l'ensemble. Cette Reyonnah est, à n'en pas douter, la plus intéressante jamais produite, puisqu'elle cumule les qualités intrinsèques de l'invention de M. Hannoyer avec un historique hors pair, qui va des séances d'essais homologuées dont les documents officiels seront fournis au nouveau propriétaire, à sa présence au Salon de Paris, en passant par les concours d'élégance, le tout illustré par des photos d'époque conservées par la famille, aux côtés de son premier titre de circulation de 1951. Cet avion de la route constitue une pièce de collection exceptionnelle qui n'attend qu'une chose : poser de nouveau ses roues sur l'autodrome de Montlhéry, 70 ans plus tard ! He embarked on the manufacture of a microcar which anticipated parking problems and was nimble enough to enter into tiny spaces, thanks to an ingenious device of the front wheels which could be retracted under the passenger compartment. For three years, he developed his project at the rear of his wife's store, and built two prototypes successively in his garage at Porte Champerret, in Paris. Without any drawings, he shaped an elegant body inspired by aviation and powered his small car with a 175cc single-cylinder AMC engine. Once completed, he named it Reyonnah, which was his family name spelled backwards, and booked a stand at the 1950 Paris Auto Show. The concept was a success! Orders were taken, the press praised it, and the prototype, featuring a Duralinox hull (prototype n°1), went through several tests controlled by the Automobile Club de France (ACF), including one in 1951 during a Paris-Chartres-Paris, and then at the Montlhéry autodrome in 1952, where it traveled 50km at an average of more than 95 km/h. The car even participated in several concours d'elegance, including Enghien-les-Bains with actress Paulette Dubost. Series production was planned, and few examples were produced (around ten, according to the son of the manufacturer) but logistics problems ended the project. Robert Hannoyer stored his two prototypes, carefully preserved by the family. In 2014, the prototype of the touring version was sold by Artcurial at Rétromobile, and now it is the prototype n° 1 with a Duralinox shell that is on offer. Its original engine, redone in the early 2000s, was recently restarted, having been fitted with a modern Kennedy ignition. The exhaust and fuel tank were redone in stainless steel, while the suspension rubbers were replaced, and the brakes overhauled. A short test has been carried out and it will be up to the future owner to make the car reliable. This Reyonnah is, without a doubt, the most interesting ever produced, since it combines the intrinsic qualities of Mr Hannoyer's invention with an unparalleled history, which goes from approved test sessions, whose official documents will be provided to the new owner, as well as its presence at the Paris Show, the many concours d'elegance, everything illustrated by period photos kept by the family, as well as the car's first registration document from 1951. This car is an exceptional collector's item which is waiting for only one thing: to put its wheels back on the Montlhéry autodrome, 70 years later!
