Le châssis WVH17, équipé du moteur W16H, est sorti d'usine en 1952 et appartient à la série dotée d'un empattement court qui disparait en 1953. Il fut ensuite confié aux établissements de renom Freestone et Webb afin de recevoir une carrosserie en aluminium de berline équipée d'une séparation chauffeur avec vitre descendante. Un ancien titre de circulation de 1992 témoigne qu'elle était la propriété d'une anglaise dans le Kent. Elle fut ensuite achetée par un collectionneur belge qui consacra plus de 65 000€ à sa restauration entre 1995 et 2004, dont le détail figure au dossier. Moteur, boîte et pont furent refaits, la carrosserie fut mise à nu avant d'être repeinte dans son élégante teinte bi-tons, la sellerie en cuir et les moquettes bénéficièrent également du même traitement. Particulièrement luxueux, l'habitacle dispose d'un toit ouvrant coulissant, d'un bar adossé à la séparation chauffeur, d'un nécessaire de courtoisie avec tablette et miroir escamotable à gauche et d'un porte-journaux à droite. Comble du raffinement, l'accoudoir central abrite une discrète cave à cigares et l'indispensable allume-cigare. Habillée par un carrossier prestigieux, cette Silver Wraith dispose d'une finition élaborée ; n'ayant pas roulé depuis une dizaine d'années, elle devra être redémarrée et révisée avant de se délecter de nouveau de son confort d'utilisation. French title Chassis n ° WVH17 Engine n ° W16H - Aluminum body - Exceptional luxury finish - Major restoration between 1995 and 2004 - No reserve The model at the top of the Rolls-Royce range after WWII, the Silver Wraith featured mainly sedans or limousines coachworks. Chassis WVH17, powered by engine number W16H, left the factory in 1952 and belonged to the series with a short wheelbase which ceased being made in 1953. The chassis mechanicals combine was sent to coachbuilders Freestone and Webb, who made an aluminum sedan body, with a driver separation, with winding glass in it. An old registration document from 1992 shows that it was owned by an Englishwoman in Kent. It was then bought by a Belgian collector who spent more than 65,000 € for its restoration between 1995 and 2004, details of which are in the folder. Engine, gearbox and axle were redone, the bodywork was stripped bare before being repainted in its elegant two-tone color, the leather upholstery and carpets also received the same treatment. Particularly luxurious, the interior has a sliding sunroof, a bar backing onto the driver's compartment, a courtesy kit with shelf and retractable mirror on the left and a newspaper rack on the right. The height of refinement is the central armrest which houses a discreet cigar humidor and the essential cigar lighter. Bodied by a prestigious coachbuilder, this Silver Wraith features an elaborate finish; as the car has not been driven for ten years, it will need to be restarted and overhauled before it can once again ferry people in splendid luxury.
