Lot no. 78
French title Chassis n°12104010022905 Engine n°1219218501965 - Great value as a collector - Good base for a restoration - Equipped with Weber carburettors The 190 SL convertible was launched in 1954 and was produced until 1963, just like its big sister the 300 SL. Its resemblance is obvious at first glance, but its engine is a 1.9L four-cylinder developing 105bhp. Originally delivered with two Solex carburettors, they were often replaced by Weber double-barrel carburettors which gave the car better drivability, as is the case with the example here. Restored in the past to much lower standards than today, this car is an excellent base for anyone who wants to refurbish this Mercedes-Benz convertible renowned for its ease of use and its timeless design. Last year it received mechanical maintenance from specialist Mercedes Kultsterne France for more than € 2,500. Given the lack of maintenance history, we recommend carrying out a general check before considering long-term use. The car's grey livery is combined nicely with a weathered black leather interior, and a black alpaca hood completes the set. The 190 SL roadster has a very high popularity rating, with its harmoniously designed line and ease of handling in modern traffic, and this car here is an opportunity for a lower cost of access to this popular model.
