Ce marché était l'apanage des MG, Triumph, Porsche, Alfa Romeo... Le cahier des charges est comme pour les V8 : châssis tubulaire et coque soudée en acier, suspension avant indépendante, pont arrière rigide, grande qualité de finition... Mais dans des proportions " européennes " avec une élégante carrosserie décapotable. C'est Pont-à-Mousson qui fournit l'ensemble moteur-boîte de cette nouvelle voiture. Présentée en 1959, la Facellia est une véritable Facel-Vega, son moteur Pont-à-Mousson de 1.6 Litre de cylindrée développe 115 chevaux à 6 400 tours minute permet de bonnes performances. Remplacée en 1963 par la Facel III, la Facellia n’aura été produite qu’à 1045 exemplaires dont 614 cabriolets. Cette Facel-Vega Facellia type FA fut mise en circulation à Paris, le 7 juillet 1960, au nom de Monsieur Henri Ayache, représentant. Achetée auprès de l’Impérial Garage, 23 Boulevard de Courcelles à Paris, pour 21 954 Francs, la voiture était rapidement équipée d’un autoradio accessoire et de son toit amovible assorti d’une valeur de 1 233.96 Francs. Henri Ayache a ainsi conservé la voiture jusqu’en 2014, la cédant à son propriétaire actuel. Il s’agit donc d’une véritable deuxième main ! Si la carrosserie et l’habitacle ont été conservés dans un état patiné, proche de l’origine, la Facellia a surtout été entretenue pour pouvoir rouler. Ainsi nous avons pu parcourir une cinquantaine de kilomètres derrière son volant sans encombre. En effet, de nombreux frais furent mis en œuvre pour garantir la fiabilité de la belle française. Ces cinq dernières années, les travaux réalisés sont les suivants : l’allumeur a été intégralement restauré par Vega Passion à Samoreau, le démarreur Paris-Rhône a été restauré par Bobinage Houdanais SARL, le radiateur fut refait à neuf par Oise Radiateurs. La société Vintage Racing effectua par ailleurs beaucoup de travaux sur la Facel : la pompe à essence fut remplacée, l’épurateur d’huile nettoyé, l’étanchéité du couvre arbre à cames fut refaite, le boitier de filtre à air réparé, le filtre à air remplacé, le faisceau d’allumage vérifié, le faisceau électrique vérifié, nettoyé et fiabilisé, le carburateur vérifié et nettoyé, la bobine d’allumage remplacée, le système de freinage a été contrôlé et nettoyé… Au volant, la Facellia se comporte donc normalement, le moteur tourne correctement et produit un très joli son propre au Pont-à-Mousson. Les suspensions fonctionnent normalement et les freins ne font pas défaut. La carrosserie se présente sous une certaine patine mais se veut très saine. L’habitacle, d’origine est ainsi dans un état rare malgré les défauts du temps. Surtout, la voiture vient avec son rarissime hard-top d’origine assorti tant à la peinture qu’à la sellerie. La capote, ancienne, est en état moyen, mais n’est pas déchirée. C’est une voiture très intéressante que cette Facellia, dans un état rare d’authenticité, mais surtout c’est une voiture entretenue et à l’histoire intéressante car restée entre les mains de son premier propriétaire pendant 54 ans ! The Vintage Racing company also carried out a lot of work on the Facel: the fuel pump was replaced, the oil purifier cleaned, the sealing of the camshaft cover was redone, the air filter box repaired, the filter with air replaced, the ignition harness checked, the electric harness checked, cleaned and made reliable, the carburettor checked and cleaned, the ignition coil replaced, the braking system has been checked and cleaned ... At the wheel, the Facellia behaves therefore normally, the engine runs correctly and produces a very nice sound of its own at Pont-à-Mousson. The suspensions work normally and the brakes are not faulty. The body has a certain patina but is intended to be very healthy. The original interior is thus in rare condition despite the shortcomings of the weather. Above all, the car comes with its extremely rare original hardtop to match both the paint and the upholstery. The hood, old, is in fair condition, but is not torn. This Facellia is a very interesting car, in a rare state of authenticity, but above all it is a well-maintained car with an interesting history as it remained in the hands of its first owner for 54 years!
