Lot no. 133
French registration Chassis # 100523 Engine No. 96146 - Sold new in France - Interesting and rare model - In the same family since 1961! This car is unusual for its history and condition. Indeed, it started life as a dealer demonstrator for dealership Royal Elysee in Paris, importer of several foreign brands. Registered LK 777 75 on 21st July 1961, it is possible that the car may have even been exhibited at the Paris Show that year, as the first Daimler SP 250 imported into France had been damaged. Soon thereafter, on 25th October, the car on offer was bought by the father of the current owners. Since then, the car has remained in the family and has been carefully preserved, receiving a new paint approximately 15 years ago. It underwent regular mechanical maintenance, which is why it is so well preserved. Only the soft top and the upholstery have been refurbished more recently and a stainless steel exhaust system replaced the original. The car is equipped with a particularly practical "heating and defrosting" optional system, its tonneau cover as well as its owner's manual and parts catalog. This particular car is the 523rd example produced (out of a total of 2,647 units that left the factory between 1959 and 1964). A test drive showed the car's smooth operation and a particularly pleasant driving characteristic. This rare left hand drive example, with a powerful 2.5 liters V8, is a very interesting and usable car and becomes much more desirable with such a clear history.
