Etonnante et séduisante, elle fera l'unanimité à son volant tant ses développements techniques sont inédits et avant-gardistes. Il faut attendre 1960 pour que la marque décide de faire produire son propre cabriolet usine par Henri Chapron. Au total, 1 365 cabriolets usine furent fabriqués avec le moteur DS 19 ou DS 21, de 1960 à 1971. Le cabriolet DS19 que nous présentons est un bel exemplaire mis en circulation le 6 aout 1962. Il s'agit donc d'une version rare, correspondant aux premières déclinaisons " cabriolet " sorties en 1961 et munie des "ailes avants cendriers ". En 2008, cette voiture fut achetée par son actuel propriétaire, collectionneur passionné et pilote amateur, auprès de Losson Automobiles, spécialiste de la marque Citroën en général et de la DS et de l'ID en particulier. Cet exemplaire a fait l'objet d'une restauration complète en 2006. Les travaux, conséquents, ont entre-autre porté sur le moteur, les systèmes hydrauliques, la tôlerie, la peinture, la sellerie ainsi que la capote. Cet authentique cabriolet arbore une peinture extérieure gris métal associée à un intérieur en cuir bordeaux. Il est doté d'une boite hydraulique. Les DS cabriolets représentent un certain art de vivre et savoir-faire à la française. Ils sont recherchés car à la fois beaux, confortables et rares. Stunning, yet seductive, it was without any doubt at the very forefront of technological progress. It was not until 1960 that Citroën decided to produce its own factory-approved convertible by Henri Chapron. In total, 1,365 factory convertibles were manufactured from 1960 to 1971 with either the DS 19 or the DS 21 engine. The DS19 convertible that we are offering was registered on August 6, 1962. This rare version is one of the very early "cabriolets" launched in 1961 featuring the special "ashray" front wings. In 2008, this car was bought by its current owner, an enthusiast and a gentleman racer, from Losson Automobiles, Citroën specialists in general, and in particular of the DS and ID. The car was completely restored in 2006. Substantial work included those on the engine, hydraulic system, sheet metal, paint, upholstery and the convertible top. This genuine convertible features a metallic grey exterior paint, combined with burgundy leather interior. It is equipped with a hydraulic box.
