Lot no. 220
Lieu d'exposition : Chapiteau de l'Espace Fontvieille French title Chassis n ° 179132DN - Delivered new in France - Manual gearbox, Webasto roof, 3.8L engine - Same owner since 1980 - More than € 60,000 in restoration costs This superb Jaguar MK II is of French origin, delivered new by Royal Elysées-Delecroix, with desirable options such as manual gearbox with overdrive, power steering and Webasto convertible top. It was acquired in 1980 by its current owner, from the former president of the Hotchkiss Club, then living in Brest. Incidentally, the car has only had two owners since 1974. The current owner used the car until the mid-90s before it was put into storage for an extended period. In 2017 he decided to restore the car and entrusted this task to Garage Aumonier, near Niort and specialized in English cars. The car was completely dismantled and then comprehensively restored to its former glory. The original 3.4L bloc, unfortunately too damaged, was replaced by a 3.8L unit, previously checked. The total cost of restoration exceeded € 60,000 and we invite you to consult the photos and invoices in the folder, to better understand the extent and quality of the restoration. The car is now in excellent condition, its gunmetal grey paintwork is combined tastefully with a grey leather interior and matching carpets to great effect. Behind the wheel, one will be charmed by the agility and modernity of its handling, qualities which gave the MKII its fine reputation on the road as well as in races.
