Immatriculée le 21 janvier 1963, produite à seulement 335 exemplaires, elle correspond à la dernière Sebring produite en 1962 et comporte trois options dont deux très rares : climatisation, repose-tête de courtoisie pour le passager et roues à rayons chromés, avec jantes en aluminium. Son propriétaire actuel, grand collectionneur de Maserati depuis près de 20 ans et habitué des concours d'élégance les plus prestigieux, l'achète en 2003 et décide en 2011 de se lancer dans une restauration complète. Pour ce faire, il fait appel à l'un des meilleurs spécialiste de la marque, Bill McGrath Ltd, en Angleterre. Les travaux commencent le 7 mars 2011 et s'achèvent le 18 mai 2015, sans rien laisser au hasard. Sur cette voiture, tout a été refait : moteur, injection, boîte de vitesses, pont arrière, faisceau électrique, freins, joints et chromes, climatisation. La carrosserie a été restaurée dans sa très belle teinte d'origine "Amaranto Roma", avec une sellerie et des moquettes beige clair du plus bel effet. Faite pour rouler, les embouts d'échappement ont été volontairement rallongés à l'arrière de façon à empêcher tout gaz d'échappement de remonter dans le coffre à bagages. A noter que lors de son changement de carte grise le 30 juin 2015, une erreur administrative sans gravité a inversé un chiffre du numéro de châssis. Au total, les travaux totalisent 170 000 £ de factures jointes au dossier de la voiture. Avec un compteur qui affiche 63 183 km, elle est absolument superbe et fonctionne à merveille, si bien qu'elle a reçu en septembre 2015 le premier prix du concours d'état organisé dans le cadre du rallye International des Clubs Maserati. Ce prix a été décerné par Adolfo Orsi lui-même. La Sebring est une des dernières Maserati équipées du six-cylindres en ligne double allumage né de la compétition, et elle doit son nom à la victoire obtenue sur ce circuit par la 450S de Fangio et Behra. Dans l'état de celle que nous présentons, elle représente une merveilleuse machine de grand tourisme. Registered on January 21, 1963, just 335 Sebrings were produced, and this one was the last Sebring produced in 1962. It features three options, including two very rare ones: air-conditioning, a passenger headrest, and chrome wire wheels with aluminum rims. Its current owner, an important collector of Maseratis for almost two decades, and used to participating at the most prestigious concours d'elegances, bought this car in 2003 and decided in 2011 to embark on a comprehensive restoration. He chose one of the best brand specialists, Bill McGrath Ltd., in the UK. Work began on March 7, 2011 and ended on May 18, 2015, leaving nothing to chance. Everything was redone on this car: engine, fuel injection system, transmission, rear axle, wiring harness, brakes, seals and chrome, air-conditioning. The body was restored to its original color, a beautiful "Amaranto Roma", with beautiful light beige upholstery and carpets. The exhaust tips have been deliberately lengthened at the rear in order to prevent exhaust gas going back into the boot. Please note that during its change of car registration document on the 30th of June 2015, an administrative error without gravity inverted one of the figures of the frame number. In total, the work added up to £ 170,000 as can be seen from the invoices coming with the car. With the counter displaying 63,183km, it is in superb condition and drives beautifully, and not surprisingly the car received in September 2015 the first prize in the concours d'elegance organized by the Maserati International Club. The prize was awarded by Adolfo Orsi himself. The Sebring is one of the last Maseratis powered by an in-line six-cylinder with dual ignition, an engine that came from competition, and it owes its name to the victory achieved on this track by Juan Manuel Fangio and Jean Behra in a 450S. In this nice condition, it represents a wonderful touring machine.
