Cela n'empêchait en rien la 912 d'être beaucoup plus confortable que la spartiate 356 tout en restant bien plus accessible qu'une 911. Porsche avait parfaitement ressenti le marché et la 912 connut un grand succès de 1965 à 1969. Parvenue jusqu'à nous avec ses livrets et carnets d'origine, cette 912 est une voiture familiale qui fut rachetée par le beau-frère du premier propriétaire en octobre 1969 et qui la conserva jusqu'à aujourd'hui en prenant soin de garder les papiers d'origine du véhicule. Arrêtée pendant plus de 20 ans, la voiture connut une nouvelle peinture dans sa teinte d'origine ; le moteur connut également une réfection complète et toutes les factures justificatives sont conservées dans le dossier.
