Lot no. 135
French title Chassis No. 124378L345593 - In a superb state of conservation - Almost 10 years in the collection - Interesting history folder - Legendary pony car - No reserve The Chevrolet Camaro was launched in 1967 to compete with the hugely successful Ford Mustang, which had been launched in mid-1964. The Camaro was based on an exceptional chassis: the F-Body. The car on offer is a an LF7 version, powered by a V8 of 327Ci. The accompanying history folder traces its past back to the 1980s. American by provenance, it spent a long time in the State of Florida with the same owner before being imported into Europe in 2012. It was during an auction by Artcurial in 2013 that it was acquired by the current collector. The description of the catalog of the time remains perfectly in phase with this rather exceptional example to have obviously never been entirely restored. This Camaro is in a particularly enviable state of conservation, displaying only 72,000 original miles and it has hardly been driven in recent years. It was resprayed in the 1990s, giving the car this superb patina. The blue interior is sublime and has not suffered the degradations of time. Please note that its four tires have been recently replaced. Crank the Chevy V8 of 5.4L and one is deep into the wild melody, and the throbbing vibrations with its unique atmosphere, aboard an American car with much character. Photos © Stéphane Marie
